The House’s plan was what Obama & the Democrats wanted, but the Senate version is what passed. When it was clear the House plan was DOA in the Senate because filibusters, Democrats were like, “This is better than nothing,” and passed the Senate’s version in the House. I remember that off the dome.
Republicans' proposal was.... the ACA. That's why it took the form it did, but since Obama could do no right, they had to define themselves in opposition to it.

If you can’t parent without one eye on the magic screen, you‘ll just make it that much harder to communicate with your kid.

Learn to accept that you’ll be playing catch-up to meet your kid where they’re at for the rest of your life. Babies become toddlers, then little kids, tweens…That’s parenting.

Sam Altman: "I cannot imagine figuring out how to raise a newborn without ChatGPT."

The entire business model of American R1 universities is not viable without restoration of federal funding, & every individual institution pretending it can solve this problem alone is also not viable. University presidents need to be speaking out, collectively & loudly about this, in DC, right now.

NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

The Senate is a failed institution. Bicameral legislature is a bad idea.

“Equal representation” doesn’t scale to a 50-state system ranging from the populations of California to Wyoming. Couple this with weakened campaign finance regulations and it’s a recipe for disaster.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.
