One of the key insights for me is that lots of tech that would be great *for me* (e.g. facial recognition for the face-blind) is awful if deployed widely, even to the point of negating my own gains.
Too many people in tech are still missing this — or worse, don’t care.

In Finland and Singapore, it basically is. Public service is seen as a privilege, a place where the most ambitious people go to solve the biggest problems.
That’s the culture we should be striving for.
