Oh, this is a great endorsement of my little debut. Nicolas is preparing a BFI Classics volume on Billy Wilder’s masterpiece The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes, the film behind the book. A new edition of The Continuity Girl will be available in 2025. Meanwhile, I’m working on a sorta prequel.

Not a half-baked gesture at all. Tidal has much better quality and pays artists four times as much as Spotify.
I just switched from Spotify to Tidal as a half-baked ethical gesture and maybe this is some sort of aural placebo effect but the difference in sound quality is startling, as though Spotify plays everything through a sock. Or am I just imagining this

Haven’t watched it yet but it seems to me there’s an expectation attached to this strand which it can’t possibly live up to. And as others have said, it’s not as if all the BBC PfTs were five-star classics. That wasn’t the point of the exercise.

Sexual developmental disorders are very variable in how they present. Some (a minority) males with this condition have cryptorchidism - an undescended testicle. A smaller proportion have have microphallus - a small penis.
