Breaking: The FCC has voted 2-1 along party lines to eliminate cybersecurity requirements for telecom companies that the commission adopted at the end of the Biden administration.

Telecoms had lobbied for the change. Democrats said it would invite another Salt Typhoon.

Story coming shortly.

One of the most ridiculously forced ai slop integrations I’ve seen.

The whole point of a Robokiller search is, with apologies to Hedberg, “I give you a phone number and you give me what you know about it. End of transaction! We don’t need to bring lies or hallucinations into this!“

Bellingcat’s contact email has always been a magnet for people with fairly unusual views; paranoid delusions, sprawling conspiracies, the works. But recently, the pattern has shifted, we’re seeing more and more emails clearly written with ChatGPT.

It’s clear, based on the right hand screenshot, that CDC political leadership (such as it is) wants to remove “Vaccines do not cause autism.” Everyone who voted for Trump or sat out the election owns this.
CDC has overhauled its website to assert that “the claim ‘vaccines do not cause autism’ is not an evidence-based claim”

After testing toys powered by AI, researchers found that the playthings can easily verge into risky conversational territory for children, including telling them where to find knives in a kitchen and how to start a fire with matches.

Merry Christmas children!

This is unfortunate. Driving through the park to see Starry Nights is a tradition for so many families. But if Elon’s sticking his Nazi tentacles into Shelby Farms, I’m steering clear.
BOYCOTT STARRY NIGHTS

Elon Musk is sponsoring Starry Nights at Shelby Farms this year.

Let’s tell the Conservancy that we won’t support Elon Musk trying to buy his way into this holiday tradition by calling (901) 222-7275.

Joe Rogan and Theo Von slam DHS for using Von's image in a video promoting deportation:

"I was like, oh my God, what the fuck are they doing? That's not how you envision the government."

"They were making, like, deportation hype videos with trap beats and shit. What are we doing? It's idiocracy."

Extraordinary that the Texas government would be so corrupt that it would have to black out more than 80% of its emails with Elon Musk.

Another wrinkle: the foreperson told the magistrate the grand jury voted on the 2nd indictment.

We now know they didn’t.

The foreperson was probably just confused.

But it does raise a question — would the magistrate have accepted the indictment if she’d known the truth?

Statistically, I think this is the top crime among the insurrectionists Trump pardoned. “Deplorables” was always right but “basket” was much too small a vessel…

Memphis: there’s a free brake light repair clinic this Saturday! Don’t be giving Trump’s tAsKfOrCe nazis a reason to pull you over; make sure your lights are lit up.

Volunteers will be replacing brake and turn signal lights, and a limited supply of free bulbs is available! See flyer for details. 🚗💡

RIP to this SolyTech power supply in one of my old TigerDirect/Systemax clunkers. It just failed spectacularly with a tick-tick-tick, a large burst of yellow sparks, a loud buzz, and the usual acrid ozoney smoke. Here’s hoping none of the other components in the PC were fried 😬
