That’s the other thing that baffles me about AI and creative writing, actually.
The work IS the joy for me. I don’t want to be able to snap my fingers and have a completed “product.” I want to be transformed by the process. I’m an author but I do this because I enjoy the rigor of being a writer.

I’ve had this for breakfast more than once….
Overcooked Cumberland Farms hot dogs off the heat roller, with jalepeños, onions, and yellow mustard. Disgusting, irredeemable, and quite economical too! But here's the thing: the hot dog roll cannot be stale or cooked by sitting too long in the drawer under the roller thing. That kills the magic.

As I detailed in WHITE FLIGHT, segregationists in Atlanta absolutely loved public services -- buses and trolleys, parks and pools, golf courses and tennis courts, etc. -- right until they were forced to desegregate and "stolen" from them. They abandoned them and built up private alternatives.

I want more people to question why migrant laborers can’t attain the immigration status they want and deserve, rather than continue to ask them to “do it legally.”
