I've had long COVID long enough to remember when it was estimated that fewer than 5% of survivors developed long COVID. Without mitigation, that "over one-fifth" number won't hold.

This is an age-old problem: Sick people whose lab tests "prove" they aren't sick (by not proving they are sick) automatically get a psychiatric consult, which can result in a lifetime of mistreatment, maltreatment, ostracizing, ridicule, etc.
