Don't underestimate the power of a nice font. Fonts are in sight during the entire play, so make a delicious typography and you'll have great graphics even when there's nothing more on the screen. Also, they help set the mood for the game, like a lot.

While you can add fonts in GMS2, I manually make sprites where each character is a frame, then call the frame number. It sounds way more complex than it is.
While it looks like Gradius's font, I started off with Hyper Duel, then customized each letter's shape from there

finally got around to watching the 2024 Uma Musume movie (Beginning of a New Era), which kicked ass, binged the first 9 Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray episodes, which ALSO kicks ass. I love that Uma Musume spoils us with extremely good sports anime

moving all my home server stuff into a GitOps-driven kubernetes environment and it is pretty neat so far!
Feels good to have the entire infrastructure in a single git repository instead of spread out in 10 different, totally undocumented VM containers

I love how in Umamusume the girls all have different thresholds for a goal celebration, where some will get disappointed in anything but a first place, some are fine with top 5 and then you have Haru Urara who celebrates every position like its a first place win 😭 She just loves running
