Massie: Previous presidents told us to go to war over WMDs that did not exist. Now it's the same playbook. Except we're told that drugs are the WMDs. If it were about drugs, we'd bomb Mexico or China or Colombia. This is about oil and regime change.

People are starting to connect the dots. AI on its current trajectory primarily benefits billionaires, kills jobs, depletes resources and increases energy prices. Republicans who act as doormats to the industry are going to be very unpopular in future elections.
The AI concerns include its “potential to kill jobs and increase the cost of living, with many voters objecting to the spread of data centers that require huge amounts of electricity.”

I love the ‘51 version for its pacing, cast and dialogue. Story was modified because of special effects limitations. The ‘82 version may be my favorite film all time. The story, setting, cast, music, effects, the few bits of humor, the ending… all just perfect. Love it.

A large portion of the people in this country are fed a nonstop stream of bullshit through the media they consume. The owners of that media manipulate those people for their personal enrichment and to gain more power for even more wealth. Break that chain and people today are as virtuous as any.
The most important thing to remember about all this fantasy-engineering of the Constitution is Madison's warning: If we suck as a people, no clever constitutional schemes will save us.

A thought after Trump’s meeting with Mamdani. Since the only things Trump cares about are self aggrandizement and preservation, what if Dems make a deal with him should they win majorities in Congress next year? He rubber stamps their agenda, they exempt him from prosecution after leaving office.
