Increasingly cranky yet still somewhat hopeful, post-menopausal gen-xer, writer, musician, and ED of Fishtrap living in Joseph, Oregon.
I don’t see a whole lot of articles from MAGA/racist folks on how to engage with their liberal/“woke” family during the holidays. Wonder why that is?🤔🙄

Stop spying on me.
Twitter accounts are based in Russia. BlueSky accounts are based in homes with, frankly, too many books, plants, obsolete cables, and pieces of rustic pottery, that could do with a bit of a tidying up, to be honest.

Only his lapdogs remain on the council. Out of 26 council members (not all positions were filled at the time of firing), just four are left —the ones he previously appointed.

Done.
Tonight's news makes clear that the legacy media is fully capitulating. I started Democracy Docket in 2020 to be fearlessly independent and pro-democracy.

It will never bow down. It will never give in. It will never compromise

Can we start with “we need to have honest conversations?” About anything?
We must end the scourge of gun violence in America.

We also need to have honest conversations about the ways internet platforms profit from fear, hatred, and division.

Both are vital to the future of this country.

Trump's vanity birthday parade masquerading as a tribute to the troops is offensive and a wasteful use of taxpayer dollars. We should be using that money to feed hungry kids, pay for new roads and bridges, and provide better health care to our veterans.

I spent the first week of my sabbatical visiting old haunts in Portland, then five days at the coast. It’s pretty wonderful to discover that my favorite place in the whole world to relax is my own home in Joseph.
