"But here’s the thing, sometimes the fight takes a while. That doesn’t mean we won’t win. The important thing is don’t ever give up. Don’t ever stop trying to make the world a better place." -Kamala Harris

Here for the resistance, but maybe also some fun parenting stuff to make me smile as well??
Very true. You could easily imagine a different spin on this.
Dems have an uncanny ability to take a win and turn it into defeat. The clutching of fists and screams of capitulation only gives Trump the appearsnce of a win. Take the win and yell it from the rooftop. The public sees who’s on their side. Dems had better stop blurring the lines by claiming defeat.

I'm very conflicted about this vote, but I think this is a very reasonable, likely accurate interpretation

It should be hope that you feel! But we also can’t get complacent. Still got a lot of work to do, but we had a good day.

We just have to carry that energy into the midterms, which should be easy enough with the administration trying to starve people

Brand new data:

Republicans blamed for the shutdown (+12) and for health care premiums going up (+28!!).

These are stunning numbers. Republicans aren't immune from the pressure this creates.

Time to press our advantage. Stand for what we believe in.

Democracy made some inroads last night. This was a very good thing. However we must not rest on our laurels, this fight is far from over. On to 2026.

The factional grifters will hate this, but the Mamdani-Spanberger-Sherrill axis actually suggests the outlines of a broad, emerging Dem coalition organized around both anti-Trump *and* affordability politics, not a party bitterly divided against itself.
These big wins will embolden Dems to take on Trump's lawbreaking and show there's a price for GOP enabling of him. Folks hate to hear this, but normal patterns are asserting themselves: Liberalism isn't dead, Rs are likely to lose in 2026, and Trump is really unpopular, not a magical exception.

Hi, I’m God.

Jesus and I agree that starving the poor so you can build yourself golden bathrooms and golden ballrooms is evil. Anyone who does that shall burn for eternity. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Thanks,

The President wants to use the military to crack down on Americans who are exercising their 1st Amendment rights to oppose him. I can’t think of a better reason to insist on exercising those rights.

Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 85th day out of the last 97.

12 days of work in over 3 months.

With full pay and benefits.

The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.

It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.

If you’re planning to protest tomorrow:

1. Thank you! Make it big. Stay peaceful.

2. Be careful. There will be people trying to agitate and stir shit up.

3. Take a buddy if you can. If not, video is your friend.

4. Have a plan to get the fuck out if it goes sideways.

The former, easily.

The GOP has been continually hyping themselves up to pretend like they’re going to push back against all the illegal shit Trump is doing.

They obviously aren’t going to do that with Trump, but they will with Vance - they aren’t afraid of him, and he has no real base.

We’re headed for the first shutdown since the last time Trump was in office.

The framing of trying to give Medicaid to illegals is absolute nonsense.

The average family of four is paying up to *$1500* a month on the insurance marketplace.

Dems wanted to help. GOP refused.
