If you’re a feminist you can spend your whole life grappling with the inadequacy of narrative to convey reality or summon enough political will to enact change. But if you’re a fascist you can just use narrative as a hammer to claim ownership of reality and beat material conditions into conformity.
ultimately i think the central thesis of trumpism might be true nihilism, just the absolute disdain for the idea that anything matters at all beyond winning an argument in the eyes of your supporters. there is no such thing as competence. there is only loyalty and occasionally bad press. that’s it

I am getting so many peer review requests for academic papers that are trying to predict intimate partner violence based on victims’ (specifically, women’s) behavior.

This is victim blaming! It’s also empirically inaccurate! If you want to understand perpetration, study *perpetrator* behavior!

This is why I keep saying a lot of us here will not be alive for if/when this ever gets fixed. It sucks.
It, on average, takes 25 years to fix a bad bill.

This bill destroys higher education and will for generations. Our public health and healthcare infrastructure are GONE. Generations will feel the burden of this. The entire country has changed.
