Intro post!

I'm David, 41, and I work as the resident Database Editor at TheGamer. Lots of behind the scenes shenanigans.

Having spent a decade as an ESL teacher in Poland, I've now been in games for eight years across social media, community, marketing, and editorial.
It's not the fourth of July, why are the aliens here?

For the first few hours, I really didn’t get what Kirby Air Riders was going for. I haven’t been able to put it down since it clicked, though, and don’t plan on it anytime soon! My review: www.thegamer.com/kirby-air-ri...

Kirby Air Riders is weird, wild, and occasionally frustrating, but a total blast if you give into its mayhem.

That just confirms it, I'm going to get a Steam Machine and run that as my work PC. All I really need is a browser anyway.
Microsoft is turning Windows 11 into an "agentic OS." It's starting with AI agents on the taskbar, as well as some underlying changes to the Windows platform. Microsoft is betting on these changes for the future of Windows. Full details 👇 www.theverge.com/news/821948/...

This is almost as annoying as using 'donator' instead of 'donor'. 😅
Hello. If you have a Patreon account, the people who support you are your patrons.

NOT, your Patreons.

Thank you, please correct this going forward.

Why on earth would I, an ESL teacher for over a decade, ever be interested in promoting an AI language app?

Quickest spam 'delete' ever.

Imagine winning in a video game and your first thought being "I need validation from an AI bot."

Lingo has to be the most infuriating game show on TV to watch.

"You've got the I, but it's in the wrong place"

*contestant proceeds to guess three more words with the I in the same place.*

NGL, part of me is wondering whether the Steam Machine is a viable option instead of a new laptop/budget PC.

Plug it into my monitor and use it for work by day, plug it into my big TV and play games by night.

Funko is $250 million in debt.

The company behind the Pop! vinyl figurines you have undoubtedly seen absolutely everywhere warns it may not last another 12 months without an acquition or additional funding.

I get that ARC Raiders is also PvP, but it's just so much better when everyone helps everyone.

Feels good to offer to cover people trying to escape in the elevator, then go back to looting or questing.

Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment (also known as Jade takes far too many screenshots of Zelda simulator) delivers when it comes to fierce combat and heartfelt storytelling.

It's a surprisingly evocative prequel to Tears of the Kingdom that shakes up the musou formula in some worthwhile ways.

Tax. The. Rich.

Every time I get the bus through town to my sister's I see the deprivation, and it's frankly disgusting that we live in a country that allows this to happen while a tiny few hoard wealth.
