Just a reminder that while her ex nonstop soils himself in public with tasteless displays of wealth and look-at-me, thirsty nonsense, Mackenzie Scott has given away close to $20 billion to 1,600 charities, no strings attached and without any need for recognition.

Trump keeps talking about legacy conflicts as Biden’s wars. Conflicts that would never have happened if he had been president. Who knows all we do know is that a whole load of new conflicts, foreign and domestic, have started on his watch.

Again, Carney is expressing what European leaders are not yet willing to say with this clarity:

"Our old relationship with the United States is over. While this is a tragedy, it is also the new reality. Canada must be looking elsewhere to expand our trade, build our economy..."
Canada is ready to step up.

Hegseth calls Jeffrey Goldberg a "deceitful and highly discredited so-called journalist who's made a profession of peddling hoaxes."

Which, if you believe that, seems like a good reason not to include him in your secret war plans group chat?

Grim news. I can't see the point of the UK & France not vetoing - even if they preserve their meetings with Trump, it's quite clear that he has swapped sides, & is now working with Putin against Ukraine & most of Europe. Better to stick to their principles, stay at home & plan next steps to save UA.
The new US sponsored resolution - which unsurprisingly enjoys Russian support - is three sentences. It does not identify Russia as the aggressor nor does it note the UN Charter's prohibtion on acquiring territory by force. "It looks like something the Russians drafted," one diplomat told me.

A brilliant piece of diplomatic theatre today.

After Russian drones again violated Moldova’s airspace & exploded close to populated areas, the Russian ambassador was summoned to the Foreign Ministry.

As he entered the meeting, he was confronted with parts of the exploded drones.

If you feel spending 2.5% or even 3% of the UK’s GDP on defence to be unaffordable, consider the price of falling victim to aggression. This year Ukraine will be committing 26.3% of its economy to the war
