I agree. Whilst the amount of people impacted will be small, compared to say the misselling of financial products, the impact on the vulnerable and their beneficiaries is often immense. No one likes to see a granny ripped off.

The consistent message in this excellent piece is that having regional allies is critical for this military strategy and yet current US foreign/aid policy and economic policy seems at odds with this.

An incredible investment for a standing army of 63,000. Even if Germany can grow its manpower substantially it still is an investment in old tactics and structures and doesn’t seem like the most efficient way to increase lethality.

With all of this extra manpower it must be very hard to carry out background checks on new recruits. Who and how and indeed are these new staff vetted? Or do they just invite the local chapter of the Proud Boys to come along and make up the numbers?

Helene I do think that you are over thinking the bit about men. I dread being asked by wife about her dress choice. I didn’t marry her because of her choices as to what she wears. Even if I do express an opinion, under duress, I know the decision is way beyond my pay grade.
