Still upset about no power of the purse language. You truly do hate to see it. The Trump admin undertook the most expansive set of illegal budgetary actions of any president in history, and broadcast as loudly as possible they’d keep doing it, and nothing. Budgetary lawlessness.

Cull the Democratic Party. Systematically chip away all the weak, corporate centrists and corrupt, gutless elected officials who refuse to fight and instead suck at the teat of the oligarchy.

I was soft playing it 3 months ago.

I absolutely believe we have to destroy and replace the Democratic Party before we can defeat the Magats.
I’m starting to believe we may have to destroy and replace the Democratic Party before we will be able to destroy the Republican Party.
Already seeing Dems say they should run on local, kitchen-table issues in 2026, and I don’t understand how this miserable excuse for a political party expects voters to react as if there’s a national political crisis if they themselves aren’t willing to talk about a national political crisis

Jesus Christ, @kaine.senate.gov, getting a pinky promise to hold one single vote on ACA funding is not "a path toward fixing the health care mess" anymore than a lottery ticket is a "path toward fixing my personal finances"

In other words, "We were able to secure a bunch of concessions that are either already law or will be meaningless in the hands of the GOP".

Fuck the old guard of the Democratic Party. Put them out of work asap.

So not only will they cave for nothing, but they’ll also preserve the filibuster so that if they ever get back into the majority they won’t be able to do anything to fix all the problems left by this administration.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

Figures the Dems would publish a study which will reward the sold out, dirty $, greedy, centrist consultant class.
What else is new?
Dems as a party, and its leadership are losers.
Stand for something!

Btw, get out of the way, we want new leaders who have integrity, courage & will fight.

It’s like they aren’t afraid of Dems but terrified of Republicans.

I wonder why that is.

Probably for the same reasons everyone else isn’t afraid of Dems.
Sure seems like Big Pharma spent way way more energy, money and lobbying capital on fighting Dems on prescription drugs than doing anything about the Secretary of HHS casually, and without any real evidence, telling everyone their products kill kids and give them autism.

How many of us at this point just shrug and assume SCOTUS will let him do it anyway, regardless of the merits of the ruling or underlying law? By itself, that cynicism about the law is deeply corrosive
By a 7-4 vote, the full Federal Circuit has *affirmed* a lower-court ruling holding that many of President Trump’s tariffs exceed his statutory authority.

The ruling won’t go into effect until October 14, though—which gives the Trump administration plenty of time to seek intervention from #SCOTUS:

Just to reiterate: What this administration is doing right now is orders of magnitude more dangerous for academic freedom and free speech than anything the right has spent the last 30 years complaining about.
Faculty who wrote to defend their president and object to a DOJ investigation of their university...are now being investigated by the DOJ.
The most banal defense of free speech and academic freedom will trigger the full wrath of the US government now.

Really remarkable how we have gone from "former President Clinton met with the Attorney General" as a scandal to "the DOJ is the President's personal law firm, and every part of the administrative state serves to target the President's political opponents" as the norm.
Important: Note that Trump just posted documents plainly given to him by administration agencies as part of his quest to show Schiff merits prosecution. This is an open flaunting of the use of agencies to gin up pretexts for prosecuting enemies. (cc @donmoyn.bsky.social @emptywheel.bsky.social)

All that relentless complaining about "the groups" and "leftists online" undermining the Democratic party but we can't get leadership to endorse the actual winner of the Dem primary over a sex pest, a crook, and a Republican in a beret. Our leadership is toxic as hell and needs to go ASAP.
Hakeem Jeffries again declines to endorse Zohran Mamdani, saying "I don't know him well."

CHRIS HAYES: Why are you not endorsing the guy that won the democratic primary in a contested election in your backyard?

JEFFRIES: I didn't get involved in that primary election, and I don't know him well.
