It's not exactly a secret, executives openly lust for this, cackling amongst themselves about all the workers they're going to lay off in 6-24 months (that they've now been cackling about this for over 24 months in some cases hasn't dissuaded them) bsky.app/profile/brad...

This is one of the main reasons they wanted Trump to win in 2024. The bosses were desperate to get workers back into a situation where they are desperate and easy to exploit, and away from the tight Biden labor market, where low wage workers were getting double digit % raises. Promises kept!

Employee confidence levels hit a low of 44.1% in May, according to a new report by Glassdoor, which measures the share of workers with a positive six-month business outlook.

This is nakedly political retribution against the people in these states for not bowing to inhumane Republican healthcare policies.
BIG UPDATE: The new changes in the Senate version of BBB that will cut funding for Medicaid do not apply to Medicaid non-expansion states, per sources familiar.
In those 10 states (WI, WY, KS, TX, TN, MS, AL, GA, SC, FL), provider taxes and state-directed payments will be frozen at current levels.

The lesson Trump learned right away in his first term is that accountability gives permission to the media to cover the story as a scandal while stonewalling with lies and denials prompts the media to move on and say the story is over

Disturbing WSJ piece about Trump’s land lust — and a painting of President Polk.

This article convinced me that Trumps deadly serious about grabbing more territory — for his “legacy” — and he might not even care which territory it is.

Holy crap. The DOJ is arguing that the President can unilaterally deport anyone he wants without ANY statutory authority, just on his inherent authority as President over national security.

That is a terrifying claim to make and not one that has ever been recognized before in US history.
