I received a message from an Alberta ED colleague that stopped me cold. He treated a very elderly pt - a retired Charge Nurse who began her career as WWII ended. She waited 8 hours in the WR for care. Her assessment of our current reality is devastating....

As ER docs are calling for a state of emergency to be declared…

The dis-integration of Alberta’s healthcare to multiple “pillars” means there’s noone to steer the healthcare system as a whole to initiate that state of emergency.

All Albertans deserve so much better than this. And it's not a failure of universal health care. It's the result of wilful mismanagement by a con government whose goal is to privatize services by destroying the public system. This is just one story of the very real consequences.

Alberta leads again!

Since getting elected, the UCP has been working hard to make sure the healthcare system in Alberta is pushed to the breaking point so Albertans will beg for privatization.

Thanks to our anti-vaccine and anti-science policies, we’re on our way!

Danielle Smith is gleefully destroying public education in Alberta the same way Republican America destroyed theirs; by slashing funding, cutting resources and selling it off to corporate thank tanks and to Jesus. And of course when it all falls apart as to the plan - blame the teachers for it.
Nearly half of Alberta’s Grade 6 students failed the provincewide math test in 2024, 3 years after the province started rolling out its new elementary school curriculum.

So Danielle Smith wants to take over policing in Alberta because she needs the police to get to Albertans on time...

But she can't even manage making sure that POLICE get an AMBULANCE on time with the EMS service she already runs?!?

This is horrifying.
