If after 12 games you are saying we shouldn't sack the manager because it's 12 games but can't actually point to the tangible positive signs and say these are the contours, you are essentially not ready to take the leap that you know in your hearts you will get to.

Building the squad to help Frank has a major drawback we will then make it harder to pivot to the next manager

@nathanaclark.bsky.social have you made or found a list of available managerial replacements?

We currently sit lower in the Expected Points table than we finished last season.

This is so damning. If forced to blame someone other than Frank, I’d say our squad is too small when it comes to legit guys. We could have bought aklilouche and Locatelli. Spent the ucl money. Yet, it all comes back to Frank. There’s no evidence he has a vision to plug such players into.
[Opta]'s expected points table has us at 17th, overperforming our xG by 8.8, our xGA by 3.1, and our points by 5.1

We have been fighting gravity all season and it’s going to get worse because we’re going to have more injuries, like all the clubs in Europe. We could easily finish 15th. And Frank will say we moved up two spots in the table!
Barely even mid-table battlers. Our xPts place us 15th. We finished last season 13th on xPts. We're so bad, mate.

I just saw the Frank post game quote where he says that the club were 17th last season as an excuse and honestly now I think fuck that guy and sack his ass tomorrow

“ We underachieved last season, so this season it’s ok that we’re rubbish “ isn’t really the way to instill confidence.

Last thing about the derby: Arsenal weren’t even close to full strength. We could have tried!

Mealy mouthed rubbish.
'We finished 17th last year' is this generation's 'two points from eight games', and it doesn't work now either.
Try attacking mate.
Here's every word Thomas Frank just said in his apology to Spurs fans, whether his tactics were wrong, what concerned him, why he didn't start Xavi, if he sent the wrong message to his players and why Tottenham lost to Arsenal in the North London Derby. www.football.london/tottenham-ho...

I could maybe put up with this if we were at least playing the young guys and building something.

Instead, our entire plan revolves around a 30-year-old midfielder loan.
Not good!
[OptaJoe] 0.07 & 0.1 - Tottenham Hotspur are responsible for the two lowest xG totals in a Premier League game this season, against Arsenal (0.07) and Chelsea (0.1). Concern.

He’s gotta go. What has he shown us to earn the season? What is the team “working on”? Which player has emerged with a new skill set or role? Nothing, nothing and no one.

The thing that actually made me happy today: two of our best performers - tel and odobert- aren’t even 21 yet. And Simons is growing more and more comfortable. He has the potential to be a star and soon. Frank clearly still the wrong man. But the next guy will have good pieces.

No player has created more big chances in a Champions League game this season than Xavi Simons vs. FC Copenhagen (3). 🪄 His game by numbers: 20 passes in final third 5 duels contested 4 chances created 3 duels won 3 big chances created 2 touches in opp. box 2 tackles 1 assist

This is who we want!

He’s got players trying to beat their man just to create an angle to pass it backwards. Sack him at half-time.

Really think we’re in a rough spot with Kudus and Porro right now. Both are way overused, look tired and going to get injured if we aren’t careful.
Every new match confirms the eye test and the advanced stats. Spurs do not have a plan to score goals outside of set pieces and kudus magic. With upcoming stretch of matches, injuries will increase. If kudus goes down, the season is effectively over.

As a Fulham fan, I hear you. We were glad to not have his passing in our MF by time he left. Palhinha is an extreme solution, & helped newly promoted FFC, but less after.

I assume Spurs got him to stop the rot in defense that you had last season. He’s ‘amputation’ — a very extreme solution to rot.

It’s starting to get bad and it’s gonna get really bad soon. Once the players turn, it’s over. The thing is, the players know when they’re getting lucky. In fact, they know sooner than the fans.

This football is putrid. Ange was hamstrung by hamstrings and 14 players out.

This is straight up poorly coached football that the players clearly don’t like playing.

We are Tottenham, NOT Brentford, founder members of the league FFS.

We fired a winner for “happy to be here”.

We can instead be melancholy that the football we're seeing now is so bereft of ideas or direction. An expensive squad of international players looking like an achingly mid-table team of spiritless mediocrity.

We have to start thinking about Frank as a very nice man who is very overmatched.
No one wants to say this but it’s possible that Frank, like Potter or de Zerbi at Brighton, was the beneficiary of a very good organization but that he, himself, is not an especially talented person tactically. Brentford have been fine without him or their best players at 11th place in expected pts.

Today’s performance should not be surprising. Our manager is not up for it. And the players know it.
