I build things. Usually out of wood. Occasionally with clay. Sometimes out of words. And with 1s and 0s at the day job. Typically listening to stoner rock. He/him

This is a country run by fascists who don't understand jazz and think pepper is too spicy.
This morning I wrote a dirt simple PowerShell script to add the release year to the folder name of any album in the digital library that was missing it and it was by far the best use of my Saturday, which also included talking with other local artists and making fresh pasta. OCD itch: scratched!

Pegoraro, 52, lives in a small house in a charming city 10 miles north of Boston. Amidst the unopened mail and records from obscure bands littering the coffee table is "An American Tragedy" and "The Stinky Cheese Man" - two books he was reading while daydreaming about being fiscally responsible.
Upchurch, 54, lives in a charming bungalow in Chicago, where an unironic bottle of Malört sits open on the bar and The Anarchist's Cookbook and Everyone Poops - two books he was reading while composing his epic 666-skeet Bluesky thread about how sativa vs indica is bullshit - rest on his TV tray.
Prompt: if you had to performatively display two books that you wanted the NYT writer profiling you about your career ending scandal to notice, what would they be?

The country is being told to get a job and get off food stamps by a parasite class of no-talent grifters who suckle at the syphilitic man-teat of a conman none of them can believe is still paying off. Not one of them has a marketable skill besides amplifying bullshit and duping small-town dickweeds.

As we stumble and stagger towards Halloween, let's take a moment to appreciate the crapulence of Australia's Dr. Colossus, the preeminent Simpsons-themed stoner doom band.

This one is inspired by the classic Treehouse of Horror episode.

While I may not be as appreciative of the vegan lifestyle as my wife, one value add is you have to look long and hard to find a fascist enabling shitbag maga choad in that crowd.

Hit 25 years of marriage this past week & so I made a mix of a single song by a single artist for each year. Some were easy (Brought Low, Elephant Tree, Whores.) & some choices I still doubt (maybe Dr Colossus, Australia's premier Simpson's themed stoner-doom band) but it is what it is. Thread! 1/27

TWENTY FIVE YEARS OF MARRIAGE! Golly, it sure doesn't seem that long. But I'm old and gray and creak all the time so I guess it's true. Happy anniversary, @klpeg.bsky.social!

Stop canceling shows because you're worried that seeing a different type of person is somehow indoctrinating your children. You were exposed to the teachings of Christ your whole life and not one bit of THAT managed to stick.

Got to casually drop the phrase "it could just be preanimate matter caught in the matrix" in a meeting today so anyone thinking they can take my nerd crown better think twice.

I applied for a commission to build a giant wooden dragon in my city and realized I needed a social media presence which turned out to be a business name. Which, weird.
Explain your username

I used to hike and climb mountains. This one was special to me. When it came time to pick a blog name back in the blog days, I chose bondcliff. I then started using it for a username. I don't really hike or climb much anymore but I still like the name.
Explain your username:

Jessamyn was taken. I am a librarian for a job and I use Bluesky slightly more for work stuff. I'm also on Mastodon at @jessamyn@glammr.us

Last day in the PNW. Wish we had an extra day to spend in Portland but Seattle was again a delight. Saw some cool new shit and enjoyed the many convos with my 17-yr old. Smart, awesome kid. U of WA tour this am then back to MA, which isn't a big college town anyway.

Well done, Eugene, Oregon. Well done indeed.

Watched Cronenberg's masterful remake of "The Fly" while jetting out west with the boy to visit some colleges. Still holds up. Delightfully gross. And Jeff Goldblum knocks it out of the park.

(Probably should've checked with the guy sitting next to me if he was okay with it, though)

The boy is into retro gaming* and got himself a N64 and a game cube and a giant ass tube tv** so he asked for a stand for it. Needs the General Finishes Arm-r-Seal and the glue up but it's shaping up nicely all the same.

Finally saw "The Long Walk" last night. I always thought it would work as a play, but it was a great film adaptation. Kept thinking about it this morning, which is always a good sign.

Guess I gotta reread the @stephenking.bsky.social story for like the billionth time.

It hasn't been completely quiet at Odd Pegs Woodworking. Been (slowly) working on four gift boxes. Today's the fun day when I cut the tops off.

Coming up on 25 years of marriage so I'm making a playlist of favorite songs from each year. Can't repeat artists, no reissues and live tracks - it's a Sophie's Choice of stoner rock. Here's one I adore but got squeezed out by all the other 2020 releases.

Maybe it's a little too on the nose, but this should've been the closing track to last night's Alien: Earth.
