I build things. Usually out of wood. Occasionally with clay. Sometimes out of words. And with 1s and 0s at the day job. Typically listening to stoner rock. He/him

The wooden monsters are fairly well established and I'm super proud of the desk I made for my son. But this was the first story I wrote that felt fully realized.

TWENTY FIVE YEARS OF MARRIAGE! Golly, it sure doesn't seem that long. But I'm old and gray and creak all the time so I guess it's true. Happy anniversary, @klpeg.bsky.social!

Since the best man got his & the other three recipients are not on BlueSky, you get to see the latest from #OddPegsWoodworking before the rest of social media. 25 yrs of marriage this month, so I made gift boxes for the groomsmen. Full story & more pics at www.oddpegswoodworking.com/other-woodwo...

The boy is into retro gaming* and got himself a N64 and a game cube and a giant ass tube tv** so he asked for a stand for it. Needs the General Finishes Arm-r-Seal and the glue up but it's shaping up nicely all the same.

Finally saw "The Long Walk" last night. I always thought it would work as a play, but it was a great film adaptation. Kept thinking about it this morning, which is always a good sign.

Guess I gotta reread the @stephenking.bsky.social story for like the billionth time.

I believe in miracles; where you from, you sexy thing?

It hasn't been completely quiet at Odd Pegs Woodworking. Been (slowly) working on four gift boxes. Today's the fun day when I cut the tops off.

More local art news! Boss Lady is having an art exhibition at local suds factory Hannah's Brewing Co. Oct 9, 6 pm. Let's hang out and talk about how much fascists suck. And y'know, admire her art.

Ugh, this thing again. I forgot how to use it, as seen on this test piece.

And the Demon Bear is all cleaned up!

Visiting @screaming.party and @acbkate.bsky.social with @3ktnsinatrnchcoat.bsky.social and giving the Demon Bear a little TLC. So far, found out they bought a much needed and necessary zine from SR[dot]com alumni @marc-fischer.bsky.social and the bear's mouth is lousy with hornets. Also, big dogs!

The last of the Melrose Creature Quest monsters is officially installed. Ironically enough, it was also the first one I built. Anyway if you're in the 'rose, come find my four sculptures plus another 3 by @meeshpottery.bsky.social!

This frickin' layabout. Jeez, Milo, what a rough life you have.

Blucher the Mimic was set loose upon the world this afternoon! If you're in the Melrose, MA area, come find him, Razor Hoof, Jacqueline Lapine, and Malachite, along with Flame, Humbert, and Libroletta. They're all part of the Melrose Creature Quest!

While there is still some lingering resentment that my town's hardware store closed, the replacement business remains one of my favorites. Wonderful people, great products, and now they have a jackalope! Come swing by Buckalew's and peep one of the seven creatures of the Melrose creature quest.

Finished my 10th Pan Mass Challenge. First day was rough - hip was stiff the first 25 miles and my posture on the bike triggered metal neck. Second day I threw out my back before leaving but I managed to crush it. Maybe best avg speed ever on a day 2. Glad to be done. Ready to do it again.

So let it be written, so let it done, the first sculpture has been hung.

The PMC is this weekend so last Friday evening I pulled the trigger on a new ride (fingers crossed the lady's insurance pays up). Noticeable upgrade and how the switch from endurance to race bike feels after 190 miles is TBD but so far I'm enjoying this Trek Madone. Not any faster, that's for sure.

While Sunday's art showing was draining (I had to be "on" for three hours), it was grand old time. The Melrose Cultural Council took these photos of @meeshpottery.bsky.social's and my work at Hannah's Brewery in Melrose. As a value add, here's also a pic of me looking like a cut rate Serpico. #art
