Watching a Shabbos service online may not seem like much, but it occurred to me that it’s a small act of defiance in the face of those who want to silence me and my global family. I will not let hate stop me from embracing the traditions of my ancestors. Yes, I’m feeling filled by the spirit.

It may just be me- but as I sit here- warm and belly fed- after a great lunch at my place of employment-where my paychecks have not stopped…any deal that removed starving people when this happens next-as a weapon- is worth it.

Those folks blasting the Senate deal need to pause and consider the fact that the deal did contain some provisions that meaningfully reduced harm. I'm still unconvinced that on balance the deal was worth it, but a reasonable Senator could disagree with that assessment.

I watched a video of a Holocaust survivor being interviewed on a British news program earlier this year and it breaks my heart listening to what she went through at Auschwitz. The fact that some people either downplay or completely deny what happened is infuriating.
