The two greatest public health advances in human history are regulations/ technologies to protect the safety of #water and #food, and the discovery and roll out of #vaccines.
It boggles the mind that Trump, RFK Jr. and the GOP want to eliminate them.
If successful, a lot of people are going to die.

The irony of the richest man in the world almost single-handedly destroying an agency designed to help the world’s poor, so that the U.S. federal budget has more room for another giant tax cut for the richest man in the world and his pals, should not be lost on anyone. [Cartoon by Mike Luckovich]

By the way, if anyone has the slightest doubt that Donald is full of shit about Canadians getting “the best treatment” and “better care” should their country be annexed by the US, I encourage them to note the relative positions of Canada and the USA on this graph.

Had an interesting conversation with Daikin heat pump reps about their new Altherma heat pump that can do Hot water, floor heat AND A/C, all from a single outdoor unit (with updated styling).

Currently we achieve this with a separate heat pump for heat and A/C and one for hot water.

Hey, while we're talking about erasing history:

In 1949 the US military held its first Aeriel Gunnery Competition, later known as "Top Gun."

The best of the best competed in dogfighting and other skills. The team that won, was the 332nd: The Tuskegee airmen.

So they refused to announce a winner🤡

I feel like we have developed some sort of friendship over the internet, never having met or spoken with each other and not even speaking each other's language.

Today is January 6th and no one is watching the Capitol be plundered, feces being smeared on the walls, and police officers being stabbed with American flags.

Why? Because one side believes in democracy no matter what, and the other side only believes in it only when they win.

Judith Butler is absolutely right that “woke” is a right wing slur. It is a perversion & co-optation of Black vernacular, the encouragement to “stay woke!” as in, “stay aware!” When conservatives and their liberal amplifiers attack “woke” what they’re doing is attacking awareness. Really. That’s it.

Before choosing bottled water over tap water, remember it takes more than 10X the water that a bottle of water holds to make the plastic bottle and transport the water. And that’s before considering the fuel and GHGs, the 1000 year bottle life, and the RIDICULOUS amount of $ we’re paying for water.

“Helsinki has set the ambitious goal to become carbon neutral by 2030, and transitioning our heating system is crucial to achieving this.”
