OC Transpo is discussing potentially cutting off-peak Line 2 and 4 service to as low as every 30 minutes in response to council asking Line 2 and 4 to start at 5 AM.

Let your councilor know so we can avoid a repeat of last year’s Line 1 cuts and not fall down the public transit death spiral.

Great message from St. Catherine's Mayor Mat Siscoe at the final AMO panel. "We don't need wider highways to address congestion in Ontario. We need more rail." Ottawa, meet the Beachburg Rail Corridor. I'm going to be talking about this a lot over the coming months.

As a parent I would prefer a park that doesn't reinforce motonormativity, remind us of the constant threat of vehicles to our current and future safety, and "subtly reflect the BMW logo".

The cyclist got hit at the exact same intersection I was about to bike by, it could have been me. We need to consider banning right on red in all downtown intersections. You shouldn’t be taking your life in your hands every time you walk or cycle. A woman got killed crossing the street a block away.

A Gordon Food Services truck was parked on top of an LRT air vent this morning. I spoke with the driver who refused to move and didnt seem to understand the potential dangers. I informed nearby special constables, who drove away

A driver struck a young child on a bike yesterday evening in Stittsville. The second serious bike collision in our community in less than a week. Something has to change here.

All are welcome.

Reminder: Fill out the Byward Market William and Byward Market Square survey.

Push for fully pedestrianizing Byward Market Square instead of just seasonal closures. (and worth mentioning the rest of the market too!)

If you're planning to bike to LeBreton Flats for Canada Day it looks like there will be parking on Wellington Street near Mill Street Brew Pub.

Just spotted this sign at the Pimisi Station bike racks (they were at max capacity early last year so this is great to see!)

Hey @ncc-ccn.bsky.social,

My kids and I felt super unsafe crossing the Champlain. What happened to the concrete barriers? We crossed in comfort last year, but those flexisticks do not protect us. Are bikelanes for everyone or not? Are you looking after everyone or just those in cars?

This is a vital conversation that City of Ottawa needs to have with residents. Through density and property valuation, we see massive discrepancies in tax revenue/hectare across the city. Organizations like @strongtownsottawa.bsky.social make this clear. But there are other discrepancies, too! 1/
Part of Kent Street is up for renewal, and the City of Ottawa is refusing to bury the power lines, saying it’s too expensive.

Just Kent Street brings in as much property taxes as the entire West Carleton-March Ward.

Our city needs to do a better job of rewarding financially productive communities.

Hi @ncc-ccn.bsky.social , is there a reason the barrier curbs installed last year on Champlain bridge are not being reinstalled this year?
May 28, 2025 at 12:38 PM
My bus usage has fallen quite a bit. Living near Preston I am fortunate to have line 2, but for east/west trips the 11 is often quite a slog and the loss of the 85 makes many of my trips now require a transfer or walking all the way to Carling to grab the 85
I’m getting more and more emails from residents complaining about @oc-transpo.bsky.social New Ways to Bus. I got a new category of concern today: the impact these changes are having on health care system. 1/

Sure free service weekend is nice. But I don't really care about the 4$ when I just miss the train and end up waiting 10 mins. It's time to bring back the promised service levels

I took tones of small videos today of the dress rehearsal in Ottawa of Line 2 and Line 4. Each video wasn't really enough to stand on its own, so tried something different this evening and mashed them all together into one.
