Hmm ya possibly, the water looks icy but I see green on the island

Huh maybe not, does this mean open all winter?

Good morning Ottawa.
Bonjour Ottawa.

I know this is a joke but man we gotta stop building schools on arterials

(and maybe even collectors, I don't think school busses arriving to schools on a local is a big deal)

I've had an Uber driver do that route, was gonna say something but I'm not confrontational

Percy really needs a modal filter around Glebe or Clemow, far too many use it as a short cut from Bronson

When I went the hotel had rental bikes locked up right outside the front door.

It was heavenly easy to get around, miss it!

Not as bad as painting brick but I was just told the beautiful dark green wood on my building will be painted dark grey this month 😢

Maybe if some bushes are planted with those orange poles to hold it up and "defend" them are planted bordering flowered areas as sort of protection to them
October 4, 2025 at 12:34 PM
It's a bit late in the season but I am so tempted to just start planting along Scott st

With the recent changes to boulevard planting rules I think we should definitely pursue a adopt a boulevard policy

Hi Glen, super glad you're doing this. Could you estimate roughly how much time you spent waiting for the train / busses vs on them?
October 2, 2025 at 2:29 AM
I really hope they would replace the whole path and not just leave a patch strip for the whole length, guess we will see!

Trench work for installing the cabling for the lighting project. Can't wait for it to be done, but quite disruptive in the meantime

My only gripe with the food basics so far, they desperately need to get the same smaller sized carts that Independent has on Bank. These massive carts don't fit the store!
September 27, 2025 at 11:24 PM
Ya it certainly will be expensive, so I wouldnt bet it's done for a very long time
September 24, 2025 at 12:22 AM
While it will likely be a long time til this happens. The NCC released their confederation Blvd design guide today, which mentioned this issue and discussed replacing the bollards with a rebuilt frontage using planters between the road and the bikeway / embassy

Agreed, the process for implementing bus lanes is far too long. We need to be quick with this stuff.

The Carling bus lane project is approaching its 10 year anniversary of being unbuilt, with 2 false starts under its belt. It's time we start rapidly building bus lanes everywhere to fix reliability.

It's a nice quality of life improvement that many other systems are adopting. We don't have to hate every improvement because it doesn't solve the bus shortage crisis
September 22, 2025 at 11:48 AM
That or if we could install signal triggers further back so it just changes before you even get to the stop bar on the path (most of the time)
September 17, 2025 at 11:01 AM
For the Laurier and Percy one, I think the volumes could actually justify making the default green be the nanny goat path and cars having to wait to trigger the light instead of the opposite.

For trillium and Gladstone would love to see that one on just a constant 1 min cycle

It's especially insulting when they do this because being partially in the road lane is just as bad as fully blocking it. If your blocking half the car lane two cars can't pass each other anyways...so just take the full thing!!

I've had this as a long term goal for a while, trying to make it far easier to access information on projects.

In the future I will be adding consultation information, along with a calendar of upcoming city consultations. For now I am focused on bike projects, will soon add all traffic calming
