The US is collapsing into fascism and going to war with Europe and the opposition party is like “I’m here to talk about the important thing: how your average grocery bill has risen by two dollars over the last year, which I also have no plan or ability to fix”

in all seriousness, this is a revolutionary dual power structure
We have ~15 separate radio dispatches, one for each neighborhood, and dozens more for the suburbs/Saint Paul. Each dispatch/monitoring channel contains somewhere between 500 and 2000 people. At any given time there are probably a dozen mobile patrols and 100 on-foot observers in each neighborhood.
Does Minneapolis have a radio dispatch set up for the people who are following ICE? That's brilliant.

The US is being terrorized by a domestic terror organization called ICE.

They are going door-to-door. They are stealing and kidnapping people. They have killed over 30 people so far.

We are being terrorized by the US government and what you have to do first is acknowledge it.

MN ICE watch is measurably de-escalating violence. Attraction to ICE for newbies is social approval & group power. Now, larger group meets them with social censure. They're using more agents (taken from elsewhere) to conduct relatively fewer arrests, lowering abductions there & beyond.

there are basically two DOJs right now: basically pleasant bureaucrats who are trying to pretend they’re working for a particularly cranky version of Mitt Romney, and people who want to make QAnon real
Criminal investigations for nothing but speech; the administration’s contempt for the First Amendment could not be more clear.

ICE has kidnapped so many people from their cars that the city had to put out this statement. Let that sink in.
Vehicles that are abandoned due to an ICE detention and towed to the City's impound lot will be released to their owners or a representative at no cost.

I don’t think people quite understand that the occupation by ICE in the Twin Cities has more or less erased non-white people from public life. They cannot safely exist in any space accessible to the public and moving between private places leaves folks vulnerable to kidnapping by armed masked goons.

So she had a pulse. That’s what the doctor on the scene wanted to check. She wasn’t breathing, but she had a pulse. He could have started CPR right away.

Instead ICE barred the doctor from attending her and waited 15 mins for EMT to get to her.

its so funny how newsom's whole appeal was "you may not agree with him on policy, but at least he HATES republicans" and then all the dude has done since making it clear he was running is try to be friends with republicans.
Only 15 days in and we have a strong contender for most embarrassing headline of the year.

Ben. Shapiro. The guy who can't get his wife wet. The guy who needs an old person to open the pickle jar for him.

if you try to focus on Trump’s authoritarianism, Schumer will deflect and say people want us to focus on affordability. but when Zohran Mamdani made affordability the heart of his campaign Schumer refused to endorse him because they disagree about Israel. it’s all mealy mouthed bullshit.

As a social movements scholar, I absolutely love the diversity of tactics being developed by each city, reflecting their local flavor

Portland kept it weird with inflatable costumes

Chicago protected its street vendors by buying up their food each day

Charlotte chased ICE agents into the woods

Most organized support for a US general strike in decades. And, Minneapolis is one of the few US cities that has had a general strike in the last 100 years. A good test for how it would go on a larger, nationwide (and region wide ) scale 👀👀👀
Minneapolis groups call for ‘general strike’. "...several local unions—including Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1005, SEIU Local 26, UNITE HERE Local 17, CWA Local 7250, and St. Paul Federation of Educators Local 28—have lent their support to the strike." www.commondreams.org/news/minneap...

This is the federal government denying due process. We must organize and pursue legal avenues to stop it.

ICE must be abolished. It has become a lawless, rogue agency. Federal law enforcement agencies must follow the law, if they're going to have any credibility enforcing it.

We are demanding justice for Renee Good and the prosecution of ICE agent Jonathan Ross for her murder.
