Bovino out is a great indicator. It’s a great start. But none of us can be appeased right now. It’s still abolish ICE. It’s still prosecute these fascists. It’s still destroy the whole apparatus that has been terrorizing and disappearing and murdering our neighbors.

Europeans have no idea how awful living in the USA is, & instead of engaging in anti-fascist solidarity with Americans who actively oppose the regime they complain that we’re not doing enough or that we were terrible for criticizing Kamala who policy wise would be far right in their country

One of the great weapons of liberalism is the limiting of imagination, they cant stand anyone imagining someone more progressive or egalitarian than them. They must be the pinnacle of civilized thought & to this end they will destroy the left wherever they can.

“the police should stop them” “congress should reign them in” “vote!”

what you are describing are situations where someone else swoops in to save you while you never have to leave your comfort zone. this will not happen. YOU must make the change you wish to see in the world!

I learned today that the concept of the “Carbon Footprint” was developed and popularized by marketing firm Ogilivy & Mather. They were paid by British Petroleum to do this so as to offload environmental responsibilities onto individuals and distract from their environmental crimes
Big oil coined ‘carbon footprints’ to blame us for their greed. Keep them on the hook | Rebecca Solnit

What's the true call?
You know, the true call. I know when I hear it.

If you’ve historically been a “vote blue no matter who” type, it’d be cool if you could use this moment to understand why vilifying leftists who actually do think it matters is basically a psyop you accidentally fell for. This is why people warn you about guys like Newsom.

Hey @vinepair.com, Keith Beaver’s argument about natural wine in Wine 101 recently is explicitly bad faith. I’ve seen the “there isn’t a definition” argument a lot from anti natural wine folks and it rings hollow each time.

Paired Bandol Rosé with sichuan veggie dumplings last night & it was an amazing match. I’m not quite sure how it worked, but it increased perception of fruit & sweetness & increased body in a kinda creamy round way. I assume acidity in the sauce? Would love if folks weighed in on this #winesky

I've not ever used gendered descriptions for wine and haven't been around others that do, but could see it happening in certain circles and it feels silly and like a way to enforce gendered stereotypes of wine consumption which I would argue harms the industry more then helps it.
Do you agree? 🍷

The way The Bear approaches wine is so upsetting. Season 4 shows a $90 wine next to a $14 Trader Joe’s wine in their cellar, later the same episode they’re naming bottles and listing BTG prices for them and price a more accessible Bordeaux for $45 a glass compared to a more expensive Barolo for $18
