How cool would it have been if the "Democrat" candidate for president ran on public healthcare this year instead of "the world's most lethal fighting force" and "a roughly $800 discount on your premiums"
Luigi is right: The private insurance model is insane and wastes about 2% of GDP in excess administrative costs ALONE.

This whole thread. One of the drums I consistently bang on is the idea that the majority of “civility” requirements is code for “the way we hurt you is polite and therefore allowed and you may not complain; the way you hurt us is rude and boorish and therefore you do not matter.”
It’s so interesting to see these urgent exhortations to reestablish decorum. I have not seen evidence of a “coarsening” of American society. If anything, the opposite: I’ve seen thousands of individuals asserting their humanity and protesting the indignity of the system UHC profits from.

Here is what I will say: The people migrating over here are of a certain type. Perhaps less strident. Fewer followers, etc. If you see an account that is very liberal, but also very "strident" in specific ways. just take note, ok?
