Outside politics too. Tone policing is the last to gasp an argument makes before it dies

I think the first time I heard the term I was about 34-35? Around 2017.

if we want to be technically accurate some are probably mere torturers for the first few weeks or months

250,000% yes, not even kidding. I really envy how normal it is in Central and South America for regional and local governments to have big dorky anthropomorphic mascots for a lot of initiatives because shit like that WORKS SO WELL at getting a message out

Makes me really glad that when I was younger we mostly just had boring ol webMD

That's my whole thing though, I agree. I worked in government communications. You said it: It's hard but there's a way. The DNC chose (/has chosen) what they thought would be easier (courting moderate R's away from a bad person) instead of putting the focus where it could have been. Always will.

i'm probably not where you were at any point since you've arrived at "it's better that she didn't try."

how on earth do you equate the proposal to eliminate a system boasting 80% dissatisfaction with a "greater" loss of votes

as much i hate recurring theme of "many governmental agencies at every level literally cannot even be forced to do the right thing" i do sort of love how the universe is playing it in this unique instance

Fully agree! Sorry I didn't make that clearer. I think it's entirely separate, that you're completely right about the rest of them, so my point is that this one, to me, transcends the racial component in the wake of the working class unity that it's caused. I hope that makes more sense.

Thanks for the reply! I do, honestly, in this case. I don't think we should "just" let him be hot, i.e. "that's the way it is" bc the way it is sucks, let run of the mill criminals have racial/other equity, but i don't think the societal impact of this case or what he did is even 1% bad.

I think that you're right (even followed off this thread, obv insightful) but this transcends to me, he's just as much a folk hero as he is a murderer. i think we should let him be hot.

I think it's just Brink but mostly the fact that they went with rollerblading instead of skateboarding
