Effective 1/20/25, the former US is now in full Idiocracy mode.
West coaster trying to figure out the mess that's happened over the past 10 years. Grew up on George Carlin albums, he was right about most of it. Ex Post #Posties. Pronouns are dude/bro.
Our new reality is that there are no longer any ethical or honorable people in the higher levels of the entire military / intelligence apparatus, not to mention DOJ/DHS. #ETTD
This is very bad.
2/ CIA Acting General Counsel, a career lawyer, "was among those who had raised questions about the legality of the agency’s use of lethal force."

What happened next?

CIA Deputy Director Ellis stepped in to become acting General Counsel and still hold his policy position. He then approved the ops.

I remember this kid's first few videos, now he's nominated for four Grammy awards. Hopefully one of the great voices of his generation. Brilliant.

Oh my, @drewmagary.bsky.social has done it again. Ewwww.

Q: Do you believe her?
A: Given RFK’s romantic history, no. This guy would f—k JD Vance’s couch, he’s so hard up all the time. So why would he pass on sleeping with a statuesque blonde woman 40 years his junior? Because it’s wrong? HA!

Excellent package of Spanish recipes imo. I've enjoyed pretty much every Spanish dish I've had and make a few of them regularly. Fave is mussels with Spanish chorizo, garlic and white wine as another.
These are our best Spanish recipes to bring some sunshine into your kitchen—from sangría to potato omelet to old-school rice with chickpeas.

If you know Ackman even a little bit, yes, he's that bad and this is one of the greatest pieces of journalism in a long time... 🤣
“One thing that most fascinates me about Ackman is that he has the supreme confidence of a guy who has never once gotten humbled, despite the fact that he has definitely been humbled in pretty major ways a good number of times.” www.theringer.com/2025/11/18/p...

This entire article needs to be read by everyone that is remotely aware of what is happening in real time. Awful, awful stuff. Thread really gets to the heart of it.
Absolutely no way to read this and not conclude that the Department of Justice has been deeply corrupted. And this is from a time when career lawyers were in place, pushing back against illegality. With firings and resignations, the politicization will just get worse.

This is the truth... The trades are going to be very good to those that put in some effort in the next decade or two. We are short all kinds of skilled tradespeople.
Layoffs in October were the highest since 2003

Amazon announced 14,000 layoffs. UPS announced 48,000. Intel 20,000.

Ford has 5,000 open mechanic jobs with 6-figure salaries due to shortages of skilled workers

You know who won’t be replaced by AI?

Electricians, plumbers, mechanics, trades people.

“Recent months have challenged the paradigm, at significant risk. Once lost, the legitimacy of a military that reflects and represents all Americans will be difficult to recover.”
This is a pattern of politicization across the Trump administration, but the threats are more existential in the military, which has tried to stay above politics. The country does not need Generals promoted because they will do anything Trump or Hegseth asks of them.
