Eastenders: Bond was whisked away at the last moment & put in witness protection
Hollyoaks: That wasn't James Bond, though, it was Jake Bond, his identical twin
Coronation St: Two weeks in Weatherfield General and he was right as rain again
The Archers: You only heard the bang, not a death
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

Don't think it's that surprising. He's a man who climbs up the greasy pole and then has the pole chopped down, so there's less competition at the top
Just watched Farage talking about Trump and BBC and it makes me so miserable that his career has been so helped by an institution he is committed to destroy - I am bewildered

Oh, look, just look how institutionally biased the BBC are against the right, with their 'ooh, the crackdown worked' stories www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Parts of El Paso that were once teeming with migrants now lay largely silent as border crossings hit a 50-year low.

Not a political consultant but I’m not sure “standing up to trump doesn’t work” is the best midterm message, even if if accurately represents senate dems position. Not much point in putting you in power then bsky.app/profile/atru...

It'd be hilarious if Trump manoeuvres himself into having to defend his conduct on January 6th in front of the London High Court
BREAKING: Donald Trump has threatened the BBC with legal action.

The US president sent a letter to the corporation, which has confirmed it will “respond in due course”

Such a shitty scam. Make a big pledge to a project then do some standard promo offer bullshit, then cancel the pledge when the creator doesn't bite. Just fucking rude.

Why is the BBC News going live to Nigel Farage's comments on the BBC resignations when they have broadcast nothing from the LibDems, who have more than 14 times as many MPs or the SNP who have almost double? If the BBC wants to stop accusations of bias they should stop actively promoting Reform.

This as not simply populism, it's an extreme assault on public institutions and structures. The last week has been about the BBC, but comes alongside mounting attacks on judicial independence/the European Court of Human Rights. Treating each issue in isolation will see them killed off one by one.
What you’re witnessing is a populist assault on the BBC.

This is not an institutional scandal in any meaningful sense of the word. It is an attack on public service broadcasting.

I think this is the thing, isn't it? It's hard to watch the constant coverage of "small boats" leading the news, or the 'we're going across live to hear what Nigel Farage has to say' and believe that BBC News is being run by a bunch of lefties
Once every 20 years or so, the director-general of the BBC is forced to resign for being insufficiently rightwing. Alastair Milne in 1987. Greg Dyke in 2004. Tim Davie in 2025. The great irony is that the BBC was in all cases profoundly biased towards established power. But just not biased enough …

This morning, Sunday, Radio 4's religiously inclined cousin to the Today programme casually revealed the 1970s post boy charged with handling the rats in formaldehyde that the Boomtown Rats wanted to distribute across the US as a publicity stunt is now Pope Leo XIV. I'm sure I didn't dream this.

The BBC is apologising for its Panorama edit. It shouldn’t. First, the narrative is true: Donald Trump *did* incite the Capitol riot. Second, the apology won’t appease those attacking it. So why not at least stand for something?

Wrote this on it earlier this week:

The BBC was right about the Capitol riots. In a sane world, Trump would be in jail
The US President faced impeachment over the violence, and in a world where Republicans had more courage, he would have been found guilty
