Who really gives a damn for a flaky bandit?
Half of the 1548 Canadians surveyed for this poll support it; so, 775 Canadians, not 20 million

Stan Rogers became one of the most beloved Canadian musicians of the late-20th century.
His songs told the story of Canada, its culture, its people and its history.
Rogers was taken far too soon but his legacy endures.
This is his story.

Emmanuel’s story enraged many Houston residents as community members grappled with the cruelty of keeping a disabled child locked away from his mother.

This article was published in partnership with @thebarbedwire.com:
A disabled child’s mom reported him missing. He was in federal custody for 48 days.
When Emmanuel Gonzalez walked away from his mom’s fruit stand in October, Houston Police called ICE instead of reuniting them.

Ah for just one time, I would take the Northwest Passage
To find the hand of Franklin, reaching for the Beaufort Sea
Tracing one warm line through a land so wide and savage
And make a Northwest Passage to the seaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
The screen door slams, Mary's dress sways
Like a vision she dances across the porch as the radio plays
Roy Orbison's singing for the lonely
Hey, that's me and I want you only
Don't turn me home again
I just can't face myself alone again

1. Nearly every transgender person walks this earth knowing people like us who are no longer with us.

In writing about transgender people every day, I hold in my heart the people who are now our ancestors, and I try to bring their light forward.

These are the people I'm remembering today.
The People I Remember On This Trans Day Of Remembrance
Elisa Shupe, Lia Smith, Miss Major Griffin-Gracy, and so many more names are worth remembering today.

This is true even in Canada; I saw eggnog in stores when I was shopping for Thanksgiving dinner in October
As I was saying the other day Thanksgiving is the start of egg nog season and we should celebrate that
Would like your most idiosyncratic Thanksgiving opinion (positive). Is there a side that is essential for you that's off most people's radar?

50 years ago today, Nov. 10, 1975, the Edmund Fitzgerald sank beneath the waves of Lake Superior during a massive storm.
The sinking took the lives of all 29 men on the ship, and became immortalized in Gordon Lightfoot's song.
This is the story of this terrible tragedy.

Jeff Bridges’ most famous role is the Prince in The Last Unicorn, of course
I think everybody has a “Wallace Shawn from Young Sheldon” — my first one would probably be “Vincent Price, the guy who did the voice of Ratigan in The Great Mouse Detective”
