These votes have real consequences, it's not just a political dance.

In February, @amyklobuchar.com voted with the GOP to confirm Rollins. This month, Rollins attacked Minnesotans' access to SNAP.

Did voting for Rollins benefit Klobuchar? Because it sure didn't benefit Minnesotans.

So @amyklobuchar.com voted with Trump **73** times this year...

You truly can just let people show you who they are.
The Senate seems to be officially done with recorded votes for 2025.

Top # of votes with Trump in 2025 among Dems:

Fetterman: 141
Hassan: 124
Shaheen: 124
King: 123
Rosen: 101
Warner: 100

(Hate that my dissertation on labor market discrimination is timely...)

Amid all the discourse, we could focus on the evidence that White applicants are consistently favored in hiring - even when background experience and education are equal.

So, if we want to talk about who gets a "leg up"...

Dear neighbor,

We’re seeing increased immigration enforcement impacting Latino families in our neighborhoods, South Minneapolis, Phillips and Lake Street. Unfortunately, ICE extra busy today. 1/

I know this is an extremely minor addition to the hellscape we're living in, but the McElroys just posting through it instead of offering any words about last week is really bumming me out. (If I have missed something, please let me know.)

This is a win for democracy. Keep the pressure on! This is outstanding news! I wrote about Indiana's attempt to undermine voting rights just earlier this week. qasimrashid.substack.com/p/democracy-...

Hell yeah, needed some good news today 💚
On Tuesday night, our City Council unanimously passed the 2026 budget! The budget now heads to Mayor Frey to sign.

All 12 of my budget amendments passed successfully.

This!!! Choosing to platform someone whose industry is ruining everyone's lives and global civil society was beyond crummy and felt like a real betrayal of their listeners.
The McElroys on MBMBaM this week giving advice to a defense contractor about playing disc golf after meetings was infuriating. The only acceptable advice to give there is "quit your fucking job and maybe [redacted]" like what the fuck guys

Basically it's Google's core business model but 1,000 times worse.
This was always the direction AI was going to head - expedited because AI is losing money on its own.

Obvious endpoint is turning the entire knowledge market into a buyers' game.
Google is about to bring ads to its AI chatbot Gemini.

The tech giant has reportedly informed advertisers of the decision, with the ads set to begin in 2026.

Been thinking about this for months. We see iterations of this pattern over time & industry.

Here, tech billionaires dramatically oversell the benefits (& downplay harms) of AI. They deliberately devalue human labor, & sell that lie to others. Meanwhile, they hoard the "real deal" for themselves.
The first school to market itself as AI free is going to corner the market on people interested in actually learning. And I would not be surprised if rich families and the children of people creating this tech were the first movers.
My employer, Dartmouth College, today boasts it's 1st Ivy "to launch AI at an institutional scale." It is doing this by partnering--"more than a collaboration"--with Anthropic, a company that stole the books of many faculty, me included, which many of us are suing.
