For Shabana Mahmood to attack some of the most cruelly treated people in the world as having won a "golden ticket" because they manage to get to and claim asylum in Britain is unforgiveable.

A new, far right, low for which I can think of no precedent, by any UK Government.

From Motel One Nikolai. Don’t tell anyone!
One of the (many) things I love about Leipzig is that your hotel room view is also one of J.S. Bach’s offices.

I would counter with Leberkaese!
Just here to point out that Currywurst is not just the worst German sausage dish nor indeed the worst German food nor even the world's worst food but actually the worst thing in the world.

superb - Robert Jenrick is supporting the case of asylum seeker, who is appealing against a public order conviction, using the ECHR bsky.app/profile/rola...
I see Robert Jenrick is supporting Hamit Coskun who is appealing his conviction by reference to the ECHR (which Jenrick wants to withdraw from).

Who knew that the ECHR could be useful, even to the anti-ECHR Hard Right?

I have a passport number, a driving licence number, an NHS number, a tax number, a National Insurance number, a council tax number, a Voter ID number. All have records associated with them. Just integrate it all into one system and move on. It's a ridiculous debate.

The BBC News continues to serve fascism by misrepresenting Charlie Kirk as a 'conservative activist'.

This is a blatant lie. Charlie Kirk was a pro-Russian fascist agitator, a racist, homophobe, islamophobe and transphobe.

The BBC News is a dangerous threat to democracy.

I have two vouchers lined up for next time I use DB. Both because of late-running or cancelled trains!
I'm sitting on a tourist boat on The Thames listening to some American tourists behind me slagging off @deutschebahn.com.
Somebody needs to fix this service.

Would you want to meet Kemi Badenoch if given the chance not to?
JD Vance has met with Robert Jenrick, Nigel Farage, Lord and Lady JCB, some bishop of banterbury off the Apprentice, Danny Kruger, George Osborne, Paul Marshall, Chris Philp and David Lammy (illegal fishing). He's now playing golf in Scotland for 5 days. But doesn't have time to meet Kemi Badenoch.

I am a relieved (and financially somewhat poorer) grandparent today, A, A, A*.
The A level results have led to the uni place but I think we can all agree the most important thing is i never have to go through this again what degree you get is on you pal.

Might go full boomer and demand extensive reform of the examination system because it no longer impacts me.

Let me get this straight. Starmer's claim is that, if Israel were temporarily to temper its genocide, it would be rewarded with refusal to recognise a Palestinian state, that only if genocide were to continue unabated, would Palestinian statehood be acknowledged?

Don't think I've ever heard of Flash Harry being described as legendary!
🎶After our 1932 'Messiah' conducted by legendary Dr. Malcolm Sargent, the press called the chorus “brilliant… almost organ-like” but a typo stole the show: a “fruitless trumpet obbligato” (don't worry it was faultless!)

Having lost one of the two keys to my Toyota Yaris, I was intrigued to know that ordering a replacement from Toyota would cost £497. I declined their kind offer.

The BBC would lead with the Paddington story
the news every morning is like

- democracy has died
- this region is now rubble
- a historian has found a lost first draft of Paddington! what a wonderful time to be alive!

So, I've had the super experience of NHS crisis care this last week. Our team have been, a nurse from Kerala, massive shout out for Chicku, a Nigerian brain doctor (Dr Osa), a Nepalese cleaner (Hey, above, beyond) and a Ukrainian caterer, Katya. So everyone can shut their faces about immigration.

The Prime Minister imitating Enoch Powell’s ‘Rivers of Blood’ speech is sickening.

That speech fuelled decades of racism and division. Echoing it today is a disgrace. It adds to anti-migrant rhetoric that puts lives at risk.

Shame on you, Keir Starmer.

Exactly this. Labour have crossed a line today. They have succumbed to some of the most potent lies in politics. They have left any shred of decency behind.
Let's be crystal clear: doing some good stuff doesn't give you a free pass to also do a whole bunch of bad stuff. And when the bad stuff is REALLY bad, no amount of good stuff can compensate.

Labour have flirted with that hard line many times since the GE. Today's immigration assault leaps over it.
