Tonight's my 14th & last book-related event for the term. So grateful my limited energy has lasted (with many recharge sessions). I've spoken in bank vaults, museums, libraries, bookshops, rewilding sites & round the fire in an Iron Age roundhouse. It's been a ball!

This is lovely on the most gorgeous plant. There was a brief phase of fashion in, I think 2000, of clashing pink & orange. I was on trend (briefly) then, & had a sheer layered skirt & top in those colours, for dancing in, when we could get a babysitter. I still remember it as my 'spindle outfit.'

This is such a lovely (and local to me) piece. I remember first really noticing spindle on a walk through the arboretum in Hertford in 2020.

Spent a lovely day in Leeds while my eldest was on an engineering scholarship course. Trod in a huge puddle, enjoyed being surrounded by northern accents for the first time in about eight years, and signed not one but two copies of Land Beneath the Waves!
