Germany has developed **clear solar panels** designed specifically for greenhouses. These innovative panels generate electricity while still allowing enough sunlight to pass through for crops to thrive underneath, offering a dual solution for food production and renewable power.

I think the finding that some homes developed damp and mould is important to note. Although we can trace some of the impacts of cold homes to direct physiological changes, eg increased blood pressure, an unknown amount of the cold homes -> ill health epidemiology almost certainly relates to damp.

DESNZ and Westminster have brought in Hemiko & Vital Energi to make the South Westminster Area Network a reality.

It'll use heat from the Thames and the Underground to heat homes and commercial properties. And perhaps even Parliament?

Fortunately, it seems that having lots of heat pumps on a street doesn’t lead to big cumulative noise impacts either

Interesting set of reflections in here on flying vs overland travel for academics. It's certainly becoming more normal - at least in my own organisation - to discuss this stuff openly and without blanket judgements, and hear similar things from the wider sector.
Just wondering if those at #COP29in Azerbaijan had similar thoughts to those on the @accessnetwork.bsky.social team when they considered if and how they travelled to Barcelona this summer.
