It’s been equally interesting doing the opposite in Greece. People will often cool down to as a standard 18-20c in summer when we found 22/23c to be acceptable

I find 19° is ok for my fingers but at 18° I too am reaching for my half-finger gloves!

I think the 2014 UKHSA review is worth respecting; they have stood by that recommendation since. I think people should be discouraged from going below 18°

It should be manageable - but it puts the onus on manufacturers to make quieter heat pumps (which they have already been doing).

Fortunately, it seems that having lots of heat pumps on a street doesn’t lead to big cumulative noise impacts either
