The northern lights REALLY tried to peek through the clouds in Dublin earlier.

Unfortunately conditions changed almost immediately after it became dark. The solar storm is fizzling out earlier than those of us who stood out in the cold for ages had hoped.

There has been a huge amount of solar activity recently, but tonight passes the 'tell people that the northern lights might be visible in Ireland' threshold.

Here's a guide I wrote last year on how you can learn when and how to spot it jrnl.ie/6492980
Why it's easier than ever to see the northern lights (and how to make sure you don't miss them)
Once rare, it now seems like the aurora borealis frequently appears in our sky. The reality is not quite that.

Please help spread awareness and raise funds for a very worthy cause.

I would greatly appreciate if you can help support us in finding a cure for CTD! For my nephew Oscar, and for all other kids around the world.

This isn't just work stopping. This is cell lines dying. In vivo tissue going bad. Fly lines dropping. Research materials going bad.

A lot of that stuff you can't just pick back up. Once it's gone it's gone, or will take years to reconstitute.
More from inside NIH:

Per a source with knowledge, for all internal research (of which there is like $10 billion worth or so), ALL purchasing shut down as of yesterday.

That means gloves, reagents, anything involved with lab work, which means a lot of that work will stop.

I don't really care that the cherry tomatoes have been cleared, but @nickyryan.ie profoundly just said: "Do you know how easy tomato seeds grow? There is going to be a huge amount of tomatoes that start growing there, which is a beautiful thing."

Cherry tomato bridge revealed as crypto pyramid scheme psyop
i really wish i was joking, but someone has created a cherry tomato bridge memecoin

There appears to have been an upper limit on the number of cherry tomatoes you can have on a bridge, and that limit was exceeded.
I go to sleep tonight worried that there could be such a thing as too many cherry tomatoes on a bridge.

I am biased obvs but @thejournal.ie’s count centre is very handy and very addictive. Possibly because the first page feels like popping bubble wrap.
