Still Gothic 🦇 at heart but aspires to Scots Baronial (for all you architecture nerds out there)

Woke as fuck - and proudly so.
Spent 10mins on a scam call from an Indian call centre attempting to persuade the young chap at the other end of the line that he was worth more than a job that steals from trusting people. To his credit, he didn't hang up immediately. I doubt he'll quit, but maybe he'll reflect.

Had a Proustian moment this morning. We'd run out of milk and had to use the dusty UHT carton for my cuppa. First waft of steam from the mug and I was back at my Nan's prefab, in front of the Parkray.

It is too warm and humid. I realise this isn't exactly breaking news, but it's breaking me. 'Mon the autumn.

I'm particularly enjoying the subtitles for Alanis Morrisette.

Watching #Glastonbury on the telly. Alanis Morrisette isn't exactly up there when it comes to harmonica players, is she? She's had years to practice, and yet...

Fucking hell. That's a bit close.
The regional newspaper has a live feed going, btw. Might be geolocked, but if it isn't you can see the progress (or lack of it) pretty well.

Today has been a dreadful day. Not because of anything specific, just generally terrible. Rampant transphobia and dogwhistle racism, the rise of Reform, that orange shitler and all his minions, poor bastard Gaza, some pro-life wifey getting more airtime than she deserves. - where did civility go?

Should I be concerned that the Swirling Restart of Misery is in red, rather than the more usual white? Has my PC been possessed by demons?

One of my longtime acquaintances (of over 30 years) has become a somewhat irrational terf. I'm reminding myself of the zero tolerance moral of The Specials' "Racist Friend"...

I have learned something that brings me deep joy. My long son (5'7" at 12yo, one of the tallest kids in Y8) has in his friendship group an even taller kid they call Burge. I assumed his name was Burgess or something? No. They don't call him Burge at all, they call him Burj, after the Burj Khalifa.
