Ich hab lange nicht mehr so absurd viel Polizei auf einer Demo gesehen wie heute auf der Hanau-Demo hier in Köln. Waren wohl zu viele Migras und Kuffiyehs und zu wenig „Mausis gegen Merz"-Schilder. Einfach nur beängstigend.

That Super Bowl was a gift for black artists. Kendrick showed us a way forward in this time of facism. Coded language. Storytelling. Aggressive humor and joy. Elevated artistry in the place of mere entertainment. Not obeying in advance. Saying the thing that respectability doesn’t want us say.

In case you were wondering if US parental leave is as bad as people make it out to be: I’m 40 weeks pregnant (that’s full term!) and still filling out paperwork, fielding daily calls/e-mails from insurance as they decide when and how much to cover me.

Got my first "Violating an Executive Order" and "I'll make sure you lose federal funding" parent threat today for teaching "DEI" books in our upcoming "Liberty and Justice" themed unit. Even in "Blue" Massachusetts we're dealing with this.
