Darien's lonely. He lost the two people he was leaning on very hard months ago now, and it's been hurting. He needs someone to lean on, so he either pushes the people around him, or he goes to find new people, and he's actually not sure which is best, so... a lot of thinks.

Most of Darien's "mundane" fears spin off of big ones. He's wary of pretty much anything consumable that he didn't see being made, because trust issues.
He also has a sort of claustrophobia? Like a small space with an easy exit is fine, but lock any door on him from the outside and he will freak.

but instead stuff like "I am scared of snakes" or "Thunderstorms freak me the fuck out!"

Darien knows how to pack preserved foods, and how to prepare a pretty wide variety of things available in the wild, but he's not so knowledgeable of every place he visits as to always avoid accidental food poisoning.
If your wol is a traveller, are they used to going hungry often? How confident are they at foraging a meal? Or do they have ways of staving off hunger or managing it? #wolqotd

I'm finishing up Shadowbringers on The Alt and I've left the Weapons quests to last and... I'm dreading them. I should've done them earlier just to get them over with. 😓

Ever since Dead Man's Tale became a thing, it's Dead Man's Tale for Darien, and it's canon as hell. I used to use Witness to the Dark Apocalypse, and it was a little less canon, but also very "seen some shit" canon. I don't usually use player reference titles unless I'm goofing.

on this point, my writing now is wholly distinct from my writing in 2019. and that's a good thing. i would hate for someone to judge the two against each other and decide that the latter is ai because it's improved. writers and artists spend time improving their crafts. they have to.
i think i'm a pretty good writer now, and i have an established body of work, but i'm genuinely terrified of putting a book out into the world. my chief anxiety right now is that a bunch of "very smart people" will write off 2 years of work as "ai slop" because i die on the hill of the oxford comma.
