I see there’s a post about microplastics going around with a photo of drinking straws, so here is my semi-regular reminder that the 3 biggest sources of microplastics are tires (45%), synthetic clothing particles (35%) and paint (~10%).
Lay article attached:
One of the biggest microplastic pollution sources isn’t straws or grocery bags – it’s your tires
Every few years, the tires on your car wear thin and need to be replaced. But where does that lost tire material go? The answer, unfortunately, is often waterways, where the tiny microplastic particle...

You kill someone with your car and it's clearly your fault, you lose your license and car. Temporarily at a minimum.
Manslaughter is functionally decriminalized in much of the United States if you do it with a nice car.

Many things can be true at the same time.
1. People who are not neurotypical deserve full lives
2. Being atypical has pluses and minuses
3. If a leader displays atypical behavior, it is TOTALLY FAIR to question their fitness for leadership
4. Good at earning money ≠ good at leading societal change

Florida's economy would crater if the true facts of climate risk were part of every home sale. So they'll never do it. Hope buyers wise up before too many more life-savings are drowned and washed away.
Lol, Zillow tried to rate the climate risks facing individual properties. The real estate industry *hated* it, precisely because it worked -- it made selling risky properties more difficult. So they rebelled & Zillow caved.

Don't look up!

Imagine a city that makes flats like this illegal to build in the majority of the city, and allows them mostly on the most car choked, polluted, loud streets.

Then imagine thousands of people in that same city saying there's nothing that can really be done about housing affordability or quality.
Imagine aging in place in a flat like this in a walkable community.

Imagine raising kids in a flat like this in a walkable community.

Imagine being a kid growing up in a flat like this in a walkable community.

Imagine being anyone living in a flat like this in a walkable community.
