Thus is such a brilliant opportunity for Meath CoCo to avail of much sought after funding.

Comment & Analysis: The Oireachtas Joint Committee on Transport, this morning, is discussing greenways (watch it live here), and a group called the "National Greenway Action Association" will be presenting their case against the use of Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPOs) for greenways. What does the group want? Given the claims that groups against greenway projects are making -- the groups say they are not against greenways, just some projects -- here are some facts :

Em, we disagree. There is a quick fix, and its called a bike 😁🚲

And yes, we know, not everyone can cycle. Not everyone wants to cycle. And that is grand. But by making it safe and enabling more people to cycle, it gives people another option, with proven results.

This has to be called out. There is clearly a coordinated campaign by some individuals / organisation opposing multiple greenways around Ireland for their own suspect reasons.

The are multiple Facebook pages using the same style of posting, the same dodgy AI imagery, the same signage etc
It's been the subject of emotive claims and some vociferous local opposition - so what's going on with the proposed Cork-Kinsale greenway, and can the project get off the ground? http://jrnl.ie/6812137

Of course, they since changed it since we first called it out on Friday.
