This video of Chicagoans intervening to save a man from being abducted off the streets by ICE is making the rounds on Instagram.

The Sinn Féin and Aontú politicians aren't really complaining about Garron being silenced. Because, as I say, he wasn't. They are complaining that those who disagree with him *aren't* silent.

They want to express their views without disagreement. They want people silenced. Just not them.

No pile on, no "far left thuggery" no cancelling. But this. This is unfortunately what Garron left himself open to when he published that video. The left didn't "cancel" Garron, but they recognised exactly what would happen in the wake of his words. And they were correct.

Never underestimate an Irish person's ability to side with whiteness over their own history. It's done here in the United States by far too many Irish-Americans and it's done in Ireland by folks like Garron Noone and I don't care how much you hate the diaspora piping in about these matters it's true

The more I see that Garron Noone video ...'my opinion of McGregor is irrelevant'. Do you know what? It's not. Not when you're using him as a jumping off point for a spiel about immigration? Not when women and girls in this country are at genuine risk directly from him? HE makes our towns unsafe.

The only two high profile accounts that challenged Garron are both women, one comedian and one influencer - both getting plenty of abuse for their trouble too which I’m sure they knew would happen but they did it anyway. Same as if ever was

Feels like one of those signifiers of rising fascism that someone like Garron Noone is casually blaming rising crime levels [citation needed] partially on immigrants and throwing immigration out as a reason why people’s standard of living has not improved lately

Can we PLEASE talk about actual realities, and not “it’s annoying that trans people can scold me online”? Can we talk about who has power and money, and who tf is just trying to live their life?

It's weird how boycotting JK for being intensely hateful to us (not something trans people are even doing in any meaningful way) is some perverse act of aggression, but boycotting Bud Light over a single beer can is seen as normal and logical.

"Bluesky is an echo chamber" give me a break.

Twitter has itself been an echo chamber for some time.

Far-right harassment, algorithmic deprioritization, and bots have made it useless for reasonable discourse.

I've found far better, engaging discussion here than I have at Twitter for years.

The anti-trans obsessives cannot fathom that a trans woman be viewed as their equal, let alone that we'd elected to public office or work the same job as them.

And no amount of capitulation will sate their rage. That is why it's imperative that we resist their efforts at each and every turn.
And there you have it.

Nancy Mace comes out and says, "It's offensive that a man in a skirt thinks that he's my equal"

That is what is driving them so mad. That a transgender person, duly elected to represent 1,000,000 people, could ever be her equal.
