Donald Trump is so easily graspable that it befuddles the mind. You want to stare at him because he simply *cannot* be exactly what he seems to be, and the longer you stare, the more horrifying and alien that irreducible simplicity becomes. Covid is gonna shape American politics for years and years because it was the first time most Americans were asked to make sacrifices and they lost their minds because of it.
That's kinda the vibe of so many folks I grew up near (South Texas) of the older generations.
They legitimately were changed by the COVID chaos. They went from being like, generous Christians to being locked inside their giant homes screeching about Fauci.
