I mean I’m pretty sure this headline could be written about any project anywhere just subbing in a different group

If they’re legally challenging to get the land transferred to them that’s one thing I guess. But then shouldn’t that be the headline?

I was quite popular at the No Kings protest. Ngl, in a wig and with everyone snapping pictures, I felt like the belle of the ball #nokings

Hunter Biden has a point. And a quite colorful one.

The cure for this is to convince Republicans that public roads are socialist and convince Trump he can make money by selling the freeway system.

Private railroads made rural people progressive :)
rural america fundamentally no longer believes in public goods and hasn't for a long time now

Google Gemini doesn’t appear to be doing too well:

‘"I am a disgrace to this planet. I am a disgrace to this universe. I am a disgrace to all universes . . . I am a disgrace to all possible and impossible universes and all that is not a universe," the bot continued.’
Google says it's working on a fix for Gemini's self-loathing 'I am a failure' comments
Google Gemini users said the bot is sharing self-loathing messages while attempting to solve tasks, including "I am a disgrace to this universe."

They are less a political party and more a gang.
more than half of all GOP political donations in 2024 were over a million dollars.

WTF. Bill Gates would be exempt from tax 😂
It's interesting because despite Hungary's much-touted Orbanist pro-family and supposedly fertility-inducing policies, such as exempting families with 3+ kids from all income taxation, the Hungarian fertility rate has plummeted right into the toilet in the last few years

Rolling out self driving could actually be bad for Tesla if it creates bad press, plus Uber and Lyft have been encouraging drivers to buy Teslas - wonder how long that program will last
“Tesla’s driverless ‘robotaxis’ could launch in Austin as soon as June 22. But a demo in Austin today showed a $TSLA, manually driven to test its Full Self-Driving system, failed to stop for a child-sized dummy at a school bus—and hit it.”

Honestly we gotta back this guy. I used to lowkey hate him cuz I thought he was fake, but in reality he’s one of the few actually fixing the DNC’s systemic issues. If we don’t win this fight, I don’t see how we can fix the DNC
As the DNC eyes a vote to oust Vice Chair David Hogg, the 25-year-old Parkland shooting survivor has thrown his support behind a progressive candidate in an upcoming special election in Virginia.
With removal looming, David Hogg endorses in Virginia special election
Hogg, who faces a difficult DNC leadership vote this week, has backed state lawmaker Irene Shin in the race to replace the late Rep. Gerry Connolly.

They are purging the universities
Umm, let’s talk ethics

“I think that what's happening in the higher education system in North Carolina is exceptionally unethical, and had we identified ourselves as journalists, they would have continued with their law-breaking lies,” Guillette said.

We gotta primary this guy. Can't have leadership like this.
Asked about a Dem response to a Rep. Nadler aide being handcuffed by DHS agents inside his congressional office —

@RepJeffries: “We will respond in a time, place, and manner of our choosing… it will be continuous and it will meet the moment.”

BASH: “What does that mean?”

Absolutely nuts that both the UK and America are turning against our universities at the same time. We are the top two university systems in the world by many metrics!

I'm honestly not sure how to identify or create the class of Dems we need for this moment. I like that a lot of Democrats are getting primaried, but can we trust the newcomers? I'm a bit jaded from Sinema and Fetterman.

The easiest way to understand billionaires is they read sci-fi and fantasy novels and said to themselves “an evil genius who controls the world through deception? Goals, am I right folks?” Whether Lex Luthor or Sauron, they saw themselves in the villain.
This makes even less sense than the tech oligarchs liking Ayn Rand. The Culture is not only socialist, but delights in its queerness. People regularly change gender out of playful curiosity. And yes, Iain Banks hated billionaires even before they became explicitly fascist.
I was FASCINATED to learn that Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk share a favorite author, and it's a socialist SF writer who wrote about how tech billionaires were satanic. www.vox.com/culture/4135...

How is uncertainty not hitting markets harder? Stocks back to where they were, unemployment steady. Only thing that seems to be taking a hit is T-bills and the dollar. #stocks

Truly despicable people.
ICE convinced a woman she was being arrested and then threatened to take her baby into custody unless a relative showed up to take her.

It was all a ruse to get her mother to leave her house.

Amazing that these people saw Trump completely back down with negative to show for it, while STILL inducing uncertainty with random tariffs above the promised 30% and a promise to adjust rates in the future, and said “ah yes, stable governance is back.”
JPMORGAN: The “backpedaling” on China has cut the odds of recession “back to below 50%” — but “we still see the risks skewed to the downside given the damage already done to confidence and the risks that the trade war and other US policies (fiscal, .. regulatory) are not as friendly as hoped for.”

It’s weird that Trump seems to have hurt every single non-Liberal party more than the Conservatives. I guess it’s easier to convince someone “switch to the majority party to show a strong face” than “switch from Conservatives to Liberals”?

Seeing “reporting your boss for doing illegal things” as a “military coup” is a real all-you-have-is-a-hammer moment
Cracks me up how this dynamic only apparently exists in the Trump administration, they can never fail, only be failed

How did Labour just become Republicans

Usually when someone says “both sides are the same” I think it’s an exaggeration, but…I’m legitimately confused how Labour isn’t just Tories now
Labour ministers are apparently ruling out scrapping the two-child benefit cap - in other words, choosing to keep 600,000 children in poverty. Meanwhile govt refuses to consider a wealth tax which could £24bn. Hard to find the words for this level of unnecessary cruelty.

I’m increasingly convinced of the Manichaean notion that hell is earth, simply a place for cursed souls to be reincarnated again and again until they are purified enough to break the cycle of rebirth
IDubbz doing a content cop on h3 and it centering around the issue of israel is basically notarized proof directly from God that we are all dead and live in hell
this is genuinely wild lol

This is an insane stat, but it does highlight something I’ve long argued: the narrative that “the birthrate dropped because people became richer” makes a lot of sense until you start digging into the details!
1760:
🇫🇷25 million people
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿5.5 million

2025
🇫🇷68 million
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿56 million

If France’s population growth had kept pace with England’s, there would be 250 million Frenchmen and another 320 million abroad.

What happened? 🧵

570 million Frenchmen
France's decline coincided with a collapse in its birth rate – now we know why.
