I’ve been thinking a lot about queer tokenism in fiction lately and the reason it bothers me so much. I think it comes down to the fact that tokenism tosses us scraps as if to dogs and then tells us that’s the same as a place at the table. Just the scraps and not the lies wouldn’t be so annoying
