You heard it here, folks: WHY DIDN'T YOU JUST LEAVE is a Shirley Jackson Award-winning anthology. Hugely proud of Nadia, Julia, and every single writer who made this book the spectacularly scary, dark, and stunning anthology it is!

Most of the court’s docket orders do not list who voted where, and there’s no way to know from the outside anything except “more than five” (or in the cases of cert grants, “more than four.”)

This docket order happened to have writing that told you three of the people who voted for.

I’ve seen a couple of people say that the Supreme Court was 9-0 in Abrego Garcia’s case, and I don’t believe we know that.

It was in regard to an administrative stay, and not an opinion of the court, so Justices could not have voted for the stay and chosen not to write a dissent.

I’m rereading Murderbot again, and I’d just like to take a moment to appreciate the amount of world-building accomplished by the repeated use of the phrase “humans and augmented humans”. Just succinctly implies so much about the various fucked up power hierarchies of the Corporation Rim.
