What the actual hell?! A close Trump advisor and MAGA figure just posted, “Alligator lives matter. The good news is alligators are guaranteed 65 million meals if we get started now.” This is disgusting, it’s genocidal language. Dehumanizing, dangerous, and unacceptable. How is this even real life?

Adjacently, the idea of the English classroom as a "contentless content area" has been really harmful to the field, notions of school + our society. Literature is very much "content" + we should probably care about it as much as, say, certain members of the judicial branch do.

I’m going to do a thread of my joyful read of the articles about how awful the Cuomo campaign was soon, but one thing I’m hopeful of broadly is that we’ll have a Mayor who talks about the reality of how safe and wonderful New York is more than about how it’s scary and declining like Cuomo and Eric.

I can’t speak for every city, but here in LA, ICE bounty hunters aren’t going after gang members. They’re hunting the vulnerable: gardeners, street vendors, day laborers.
