In that case yes indeed I agree with Sally - only one investment property should be eligible for negative gearing

Oh, a small note on Advance, but a note nonetheless. My office was above a polling station. All parties removed their refuse and corflutes by Monday. Advance left their rubbish for someone else to dispose of. Which tracks their profile quite nicely.

Remember all that fulminating in the billionaire press about "free speech" (ie their freedom to abuse Muslims, trans people etc with impunity)? Now that people are being arrested for speaking about an issue of the utmost gravity, the self-appointed guardians of liberty have fallen strangely silent.
It's utterly mad.
These people are the opposite of terrorists.
THEY WANT PEACE.
The police know they're not terrorists.
The government knows they're not terrorists.
Yet, on the Home Secretary's orders, they're being arrested under the Terrorism Act.

Among yesterday's arrestees is Deborah Hinton, an 81-year old retired magistrate with an OBE.
That's Yvette Cooper's idea of a terrorist.

Murdering children is righteous.
Trying to stop it is terrorism.

... perhaps the reason there’s been a measurable increase in attacks on the Jewish community in Australia may be due in part to a supermassive increase in genocidal attacks on the Palestinian community in Gaza by the Israeli state.
Well then. This week’s AlienSideBoob from @birmo.bsky.social is titled “Crimes against reality” and it concerns a certain plan to combat antisemitism that was published recently. aliensideboob.substack.com/p/crimes-aga...

The Gaul and hubris of Segal and her backers. Sack her today
A couple of points I should add:
-Segal has no experience or expertise in reducing hate speech
-She proposes that her judgements override laws, offices & experts that already exist (and work) to limit hate speech.
-If I was Islamophobia envoy I'd be v concerned about her family's support for Advance
If Anthony Albanese was indeed genuinely seeking to restore “social cohesion” by appointing a special envoy to combat antisemitism, he couldn’t have made a poorer choice than Jillian Segal.

If the Government is interested in tax reform, we have a few ideas.

Between taxing the gas industry, fixing tax loopholes and ending fossil fuel subsidies, these changes could raise up to $63 billion, supporting better services and reducing inequality.
