1. The job market is shit (I am old & also don't wanna)
2. I thought maybe I'd cut my hair then came to my senses
3. I had my eyes tested and remain as ever retinal challenged
4. It's winter(y), please remove the tacking stitches from your coats

I think Ford possibly blundered into a good thing: forcing Mark Carney to see there is simply no deal to be had with Trump, and to get us pivoting away from the US with more seriousness, urgency, and comprehensiveness than whatever the hell he's been doing.

with the deepest love: if you’re genuinely concerned someone might read your work and think Spicy Autocomplete wrote it, your problem isn’t em dashes, it’s ideas
all this omg if you use these words ppl will think you use chatgpt! Omg stop using emdashes. Excuse, I will use whatever the hell I want. Writers wrote whatever they wanted and this machine gobbled it all up and now we can't use words and punctuation because the machine spits it out? Absurd.

I finished Task last night and next to Andor, this year was the best thing I’ve seen on the boob tube. Honestly, 7 hours of straight depression that were compelling and emotionally messy. People weren’t perfect, or tried to be and I’m so glad I watched it. 12/10 highly recommend.

this man is a TREASURE this interview is absolutely stuffed with gorgeous, incredible quotes, but I especially love this one:

George: not remotely familiar with a fandom he founded, created and pushed into the stratosphere of culture.
“[Star Wars] is one gallery out of 33. And I did it grudgingly,” Lucas said. “I didn’t want people to come to the museum and say, ‘Where’s the Star Wars?’”

I want to visit this 33rd one and the other 32. 🤗 As soon as/if the US stops being weird.

The Star Wars creator always relied on artists to manifest his ideas. To seal his legacy with the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, his most important collaborator was his wife.

Darth Vader kills his shitty boss then dies⚡️
Trump: "We have Darth Vader. You know Darth Vader, right? Darth Vader is a man who is sitting -- is that Darth? Stand up please. Does everybody know -- they call him Darth Vader, I call him a fine man. But he's cutting Democrat priorities and they're never gonna get them back."

“it’s here, it’s going to happen, why bother fighting it, and if we made some money too, in the end, how bad can it really be” - terrifying.

Anyway. I’m never going to make $ off the modern tech world and ya, that’s a skill issue but I’m happy having morals.
Today in BOOOOOO, SAG-AFTRA is working with OpenAI and Bryan Cranston to "Ensure Voice and Likeness Protections in Sora 2."

Press release below, and in case it isn't clear, I'm saying "boo" not "boo-urns" because you do not, under any circumstances, have to work with these thieving a-holes.

It’s not ethical for workplaces to describe themselves as families or expect employees to buy into that idea. It’s corporate speak for, ‘we’re going to treat you poorly because that’s what families do.'
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

UNRWA has enough food outside #Gaza to supply people there for 3 months, amid desperate need. Our teams stand ready to deliver it.

But despite the #ceasefire, the Israeli Authorities’ block on UNRWA bringing any supplies into Gaza still continues.

Let us get aid into Gaza at the full scale needed.

Bring back mass market paperback size! I can fit that shit in a coat pocket. I don't need a hard copy unless it's a collector's item of a novel I love, or I need another door stop.
My strongest book-related belief is that the paperback should come first and then the hardback after for people who want a fancy edition.

Anyway, my tights! I bought a new pair and chose the largest size at the store bc I don't trust modern sizing and whoo let me tell you if the largest size according to this brand is to fit the sizing it claims, we have a huge problem. I could barely get them on to my knees, let alone to my waist.
I was going to start the day with complaining about my tights. Later. However, I think ppl should see this bc a, get off X and b. This is one of the vilest things I’ve come across, it made me recoil. This is a disgusting display of well, so many things. Sick.

I remain perplexed that a government can “shut down”. Like that makes no sense to me at all. I, a citizen of the parliamentary system know oddities abound but you’re the government. In my world this would breed a leadership crisis, a collapse of govt and an election.

Greta was stripped and had soldiers film themselves with her while Israel's far-right minister Ben-Gvir screamed at her. Absolutely degrading sexual abuse and the Swedish foreign minister's reaction is essentially "she asked for it".
Aftonbladet's interview with Greta Thunberg is now available in English - it raises many serious questions, not least about the Swedish govt. effectively abandoning its citizens to torture because it doesn't agree with their politics. A thundering disgrace.
